PEOPLE DEFRAUD YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY USING GIFT CARDS

University employees and students are the target of gift card scams through email and text messages. Unfortunately, some have fallen victim to these scams.

ONLY PURCHASE GIFT CARDS FOR WORK USING THE OFFICIAL PROCEDURE

Gift card requests must be made on the gift card portal: giftcards.byu.edu. Something is wrong if you are requested to get gift cards any other way.

REPORT ALL PHISHING ATTEMPTS

Don't fall for any suspicious emails or text messages discussing gift cards. Do not respond to any request. If you receive a suspicious or unexpected request, forward the message to phishing@byu.edu or call CES Security Operations at 801-422-7788.
